Guests can take the term “packing light” to a whole new level with a stay at one of Japan’s MIMARU Hotels. In January, the popular hotel chain partnered with “Any Wear, Anywhere,” an innovative clothing rental company that provides hotel guests with pieces for their stays, eliminating the need to travel with much, if any, checked luggage.
Any Wear, Anywhere offers seasonal ensembles for adults, teens, and children. Each person on a reservation gets an individual bag with around six to seven items, including tops, bottoms, and layering pieces. The clothing rentals can be for one day or up to 30 days. Guests can reserve the “Family Set” clothing rental plan for a group of up to two adults and two children.
The partnership between the hospitality and clothing rental companies is exclusive, meaning only MIMARU Hotels guests can reserve Any Wear, Anywhere orders. Using its own system to simplify international conversations, Any Wear, Anywhere offers sizes up to 3XL for adults. Much of the clothing looks unisex. However, travelers will have to specify whether each parcel is for a man, woman, girl, or boy during the booking process.
Pricing is fixed for each rental set option and ranges from ¥28,000 to ¥52,000 (around $175 to $325).
On arrival, with confirmed hotel and clothing reservations, guests will check in at their MIMARU destination and share their Any Wear, Anywhere booking information. They are responsible for returning the clothing to a MIMARU Hotels front desk, another hotel, or a convenience store.
What Else Is There To Know About MIMARU Hotels And Any Wear, Anywhere?
The program’s trial period ends this month (March), but guests can make clothing reservations for MIMARU hotel stays through November 2026. Information shared with Travel Noire about the partnership indicates that “future developments” of the collaboration may be considered based on “usage data and guest feedback.”
“This service offers everyday outfits to make travel lighter and easier,” MIMARU highlights. “Visitors can rent everyday outfits they’ll actually want to wear in Japan. When it’s time to return home, there’s no mountain of laundry or hours of unpacking.”
The hotel chain has 29 aparthotel locations across Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. MIMARU is known for offering Pokémon-themed rooms, perfect for families and fans of the globally loved Japanese franchise.
Any Wear, Anywhere reservations can be made up to two months in advance. They must be made at least four days before a guest’s stay at MIMARU Hotels. Guests can also make back-to-back clothing reservations, but the pieces from one reservation must be returned before new ones are sent out. Shoes aren’t included, so be sure to pack yours.
